The Porch Cafe in Scarborough feels like a thoughtfully laid-back spot where locals settle in for their morning coffee or a casual catch-up. Situated just off Nautilus Crescent, the café blends a bright, airy interior with plenty of outdoor seating shaded by greenery—a perfect setting for soaking up the sea-adjacent vibe of this west coast suburb.

Visitors tend to arrive in the mornings or early afternoons, often with dogs in tow or kids in strollers, reflecting its friendly, inclusive energy. People who appreciate well-made coffee will find a consistent, smooth brew here, thanks to their use of Dimattina-roasted beans. Whether you’re after a simple latte or something with a bit of creative flair like their Banana Bread Iced Latte topped with cold foam, the drinks menu shows attention to detail that local coffee fans have come to expect.

The food leans into fresh, straightforward café fare with a strong local feel. The smashed avocado variations, especially the one with housemade red onion and dill cream cheese paired with smoked salmon, get particular mention for balanced flavours and generous portions. Their breakfasts—egg dishes, toast with preserves, and bowls featuring seasonal fruit and granola—offer comfortable choices for people grabbing a bite before heading to the beach or settling into work on a laptop.

The Porch’s atmosphere is quietly inviting rather than buzzy, suited to anyone looking to unwind with good coffee and uncomplicated, well-crafted food. Outdoor seating is popular on bright, sunny days, where the relaxed setting invites lingering over a book or casual conversation. Staff interactions tend to be warm and easygoing, which adds a welcoming layer that’s appreciated whether you’re a regular or just passing through.

**5/5 Stars – A Hidden Gem in Scarborough, Perth!** What a fantastic find! This cozy café tucked away in the streets of Scarborough is an absolute delight. The staff are warm, friendly, and made us feel right at home. We couldn’t resist trying almost half the menu, and every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The café itself is spotless and inviting, with a lovely atmosphere. I especially appreciated the open kitchen—it’s impeccably organized and clean, which really speaks to their attention to detail. And let’s talk about the smoothies! Even with added protein, they were smooth and delicious, unlike the powdery, unpleasant versions I’ve had elsewhere. It’s clear they use quality ingredients and care about their craft. If you’re in the area, don’t miss this place! Whether it’s for breakfast or lunch, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a fantastic meal. Highly recommend!

The Porch in Scarborough is such a hidden gem! Tucked away at the base of the Altum Apartments, it’s light, bright, and modern with plenty of indoor/outdoor seating, greenery, and a super relaxing vibe. Kid and dog-friendly too, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. Coffee is spot on – smooth, consistent, and roasted by Dimattina. Prices are standard and they’ve got a loyalty card too (10th coffee free!). Food menu is wholesome and pairs perfectly with the peaceful setting. A great spot for a sunrise coffee, weekend brunch, or even a picnic on the grass. Definitely worth finding if you’re in the Scarborough area! Excellent experience. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The food portions are a little small with the avocado and brie toast making it a light lunch for us, but when the coffee is so good and the gluten free options are so excellent I think I will be returning soon. Eggs weren't available, so next time we hope to try them, and that should be a bit more filling. We didn't leave hungry, though, a light lunch but delicious and filled a gap.
